The Republic of Serbia joined the sub-programme Media within the Creative Europe programme, which opened possibilities for accelerated development of the entire domestic audiovisual and multimedia sector, but also a more successful positioning of organizations and individuals from Serbia on the international scene.
In this way, Serbia with its earlier joining of the sub-programme Culture, as the first non-EU country, rounded up its participation in the Creative Europe programme and achieved access to the fund amounting to the total of 1, 46 billion Euros.
The fund of the sub-programme Media has at its disposal more than 800 million Euros and it is intended for supporting the film and television production, developing video games and professional training of individuals.
Participation in the Media sub-programme will influence the development of new professions, growth of employment in the field of culture and strengthening communication with new audiences.
The sub-programme Media is one of the most important European funds supporting production, distribution and promotion of feature films and documentaries, TV drams and new media.
The aim of the Media sub-programme is developing a common European market and encouraging competitiveness of European culture on the world market. As a part of this sub-programme, artists from Serbia will be able to distribute their work worldwide.
By establishing connections between the production and the distribution sectors, the Creative Europe programme enables access to new markets through exchange, increasing the visibility of works and enhancing their circulation.
According to the data of the Desk of the Creative Europe programme for Serbia, a large number of organizations and individuals from European countries is interested in Serbia’s participation in the sub-programme Media.
Considering the positive experiences of applying for the sub-programme Culture, it is expected that Serbia’s participation in the Media sub-programme will enable domestic originators important financial assets and access to new markets and audiences.
