Participation of the Desk’s Head in the Seminar Modern Approach to Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage

The Central Institute for Conservation in Belgrade in cooperation with the Institute for Nuclear Research Vinča, Institute for Physics and the company Neir from Split, organised a seminar on 15th and 16th December 2014 with the title of Modern Approach to Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage: a synergy of art, science and technology.

The core aim of the seminar was presenting the possibilities, human resources and equipment for the application of modern technology and methodologies in the protection of cultural heritage of networked institutions in Serbia – Institute for Nuclear Research Vinča (Belgrade), Institute for Physics (Belgrade) and the Central Institute for Conservation (Belgrade), followed by the presenting of results in conserving and restoring cultural heritagy of company Neir from Split which has been successfully working in this field for the past 20 years and which is a pioneer in the application of modern technology and scientific methods in conservation and restoration.

Also, topics covered included presenting perspectives, possibilities and propositions of joint acting in domestic and European calls for projects concerning conservation and restoration of cultural heritage. The Head of the Creative Europe Desk Serbia presented the possibilities offered by the sub-programme Culture of Creative Europe in terms of strengthening this field.
