Regional conference dedicated to the topic of promotion and networking of cultural cooperation in the Western Balkans was held on 5th and 6th February 2020 in Skopje.
The main focus was the new call within the Creative Europe programme – Strengthening cultural cooperation and competitiveness of cultural and creative industries of the Western Balkans, with an emphasis on complex regional and European cultural policies, and also on strengthening capacities of cultural institutions and organisations.
Dimitrije Tadić, Head of the Creative Europe Desk Serbia, presented the opportunities to get connected with organisations from Serbia, as well as the regional research (Re)positioning the region of Southeast Europe through Culture conducted by the Desk in 2018. On the second day of the conference Aleksandar Popović, the President of the Managing Board of the Independent Cultural Scene spoke about cultural cooperation in the Balkans and the independent scene in Serbia.
This event was organised by the Creative Europe Desk North Macedonia in cooperation with the European Commission and the Delegation of the European Union in Skopje.
The two-day seminar participants, apart from representatives of the Creative Europe Desk Serbia, also included representatives of Desks from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia and North Macedonia, as well as numerous representatives of the cultural sector from the area of the Western Balkans.
