Libraries in Serbia often act as informal cultural centres. Although this is reminiscent in many aspects of the cultural policy instruments of Western countries developing libraries as meeting places, places of generational intertwining and inclusion, this phenomenon exists in our world out of necessity – i.e. the immediate need of local communities whose spaces for cultural content shut down and disappeared. Next Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the garden of the Museum of Yugoslavia we will discuss best practices, challenges and the urge to work in the community.
The talks are organised within the cycle on literature and publishing jointly edited by Ana Pejović, cultural manager and Jasminka Petrović, author.
We are kindly asking everyone interested to attend the talks to respect the protective measures concerned with the virus Covid-19, by using face masks and keeping a distance in the space.
