Karkatag is Belgrade based Serbian art collective. It exists since 2009.

Work of collective includes machines, interactive and autonomous installations and manipulable objects.
Collective uses industrial materials and technologies in research of different natural and scientific phenomena, interactivity and performativity of machines, sound, motion.
Through public actions and performances, by placing installations and machines in space as urban scenography and props, collective also introduces social aspects of its work. In those settings spectator/passer-by is being involved in co-play with machine/installation and thereby becoming an active partaker in changing the perception of space and daily routine of the city.
Karkatag works are participatory and the situation generated through their use is integral part of their realization.

Aiming to encourage experimentation and to make its metalworking and mechanical knowledge available, collective organizes series of workshops as well as offering workplace, tools and advising in its open studio/artist-in-residence project.

Karkatag has three permanent members that are together defining, managing and realizing the work of collective. Nevertheless, team structure is generally fluid and from project to project it involves new people.

The organization Liceulice, launched in 2010, operates on the principle of economic and social inclusion of the members of marginalized groups. The core activities are publishing the street magazine LICEULICE (ten issues yearly, 9.000 copies print-run), and the English language magazine Belgrade Less Ordinary - BLO (semiannual), designed as an activist guide for foreigners who want to get to know a different side of Belgrade and Serbia.

Among our main interests are activism in culture, anti-discrimination politics and defending the issues of public interest. Our media network is made of a large number of journalists, activists, artists and designers, both from Serbia and other ex-Yugoslavian countries. Since the very beginning we have also placed a strong accent on the quality of design and visual material, and as a part of that mission we have launched a platform for the socially engaged design and illustration "For the good causes".

During the last ten years, Liceulice has acquired a reputation of an influential, reliable, independent media platform of social and cultural activism. Aside from the printed magazines, it consists of the website, social networks, radio show, as well as numerous events we are hosting over the year.

Liceulice is also an influential member of International Network of Street Papers (INSP) and Independent cultural scene of Serbia (NKSS).
