Fabriano (31.000 inhabitants) is a town and comune of Ancona province in the Italian region of the Marche.
City of painters, blacksmiths and master paper makers (Mastri chartai), Fabriano, with Bologna, is the only Italian city designated by UNESCO "Creative city" (2013). The town is in the category Folk Arts (for the Fabriano's handmade paper production).
Fabriano supports various forms of artistic expression through numerous cultural events such as exhibitions and festivals. Cultural infrastructure such as the Paper and Watermark Museum, the multimedia library, the Gentile Theatre, the Museum of the Piano and the Picture Gallery also attract a large number of visitors.
The municipality of Fabriano would like to be a partner within the frame of Creative Europe programme by joining cultural cooperation projects (small or large scale ) or 2018 European Year of Culturale Heritage actions.
