Short description of your organization:

The Abbaye aux Dames, located in Saintes in southwest France, is a French “1901 Association”.
Constructed in the 11th Century, the abbey itself is today a music school, hostel (in the historical monument), provider of social housing, and classical concert venue.
For over 40 years, music lovers have been attending the abbey to enjoy and learn about music, with a special emphasis on the use of period instruments.

The cooperation project “Heritage Interpretation & Innovative Practices” (HIIP) aims to design and construct a new prototype of “Music and Heritage Discovery Tour” at the Abbaye aux Dames – Cité Musicale in Saintes (France). Thanks to an innovative approach in terms of heritage interpretation, digital technologies and audience development with local communities, the Abbaye aux Dames and its coorganisers would like to experiment this prototype with different European historical monuments.

The project will involve the creation of a consortium of European organisations, headed up by the Abbaye itself, assisted by inter-sectorial and transnational co-organisers, associated partners, and their various suppliers.

Besna Kobila (“Angry Mare”) Publishing house was founded in 2010 by Predrag Mladenović and Goran Lakićević. Their desire was to strengthen the belief that the comics is the real ninth art, and through the publications of international (and domestic) comics of the highest quality, primarily graphic novels, to dispel the notion of comics as a petty amusement. Since their first edition, the founders were resolute that their priority is not the income, but the quality of the comics, also the quality of printing, as well as the reasonable prices. In short, this is also the motto of Besna Kobila: “the comics at all costs, but the most favorable for the readers”.
Simultaneously with the graphic novels, and since 2016, Besna Kobila also publishes literary works, mostly the foreign authors not adequately represented in Serbia, but also domestic ones, considered to be the future of the Serbian literature. The first published novel, Lusitania by Dejan Atanacković won the NIN literary prize as the novel of the year. It was a unique case in Serbian publishing: the first novel by an author, the first novel by a publisher and the first time that the most prestigious literary prize was won by a comics publisher.
Besides this recognition, during the ten years of existence, domestic authors of Besna kobila won awards of the Association of Serbian Artists of Applied Arts and Designers for best domestic comics editions at the Belgrade International Bookfair in 2014 and 2015.
